📚

Brown noise masks distracting frequencies, helping maintain focus.

Three modes for every moment

Deep Work

Brown noise & 40Hz binaural beats to eliminate distractions and enter flow state. Ideal for coding, writing, and complex tasks.

Quick Recharge

Natural rain and forest sounds to restore mental energy in just 5-10 minutes. Based on attention restoration theory.

Wind Down

Calming ocean waves and night sounds to transition from work mode to rest. Perfect for end-of-day relaxation.

The science behind the sound

Flovia's sounds draw on published research on sound, attention and relaxation. Here is what a few studies found. Results vary from person to person.

🎧 Noise & Focus

Background noise and attention

In a study of schoolchildren, white noise improved memory performance for children with ADHD but lowered it for their classmates. How much background noise helps seems to differ from person to person.

🧠 Binaural Beats

Listening to a 40Hz binaural beat

In a small lab study, EEG showed brain responses within 15 minutes of listening to a 40Hz binaural beat, and participants recalled more words in a working-memory task afterwards. This is early research that has not been widely replicated.

🌿 Nature Sounds

Nature sounds after a stressful task

After a stressful arithmetic task, skin conductance (a sign of physical arousal) tended to settle faster while people listened to birdsong and running water than while they heard traffic noise.

☕ Ambient Noise

Moderate noise and creative thinking

Across five experiments, a moderate, café-like noise level (about 70 dB) led to better performance on creative tasks than a quiet room (50 dB), while loud noise (85 dB) made performance worse.
